Jeff Blocker didn’t follow a straight path, but every turn sharpened his sense of purpose. Growing up in Massachusetts in a stable, hard-working family, Jeff learned the value of diligence early on. After earning a degree in hotel management, he quickly discovered he liked connecting with people but hated the pressure of selling. He began working in insurance, recruiting, and high-end telecommunications, constantly searching for a role that felt aligned. His turning point came in 2007 at a financial conference, where he was introduced to lifetime guaranteed income. What started as curiosity became conviction when the 2008 market crash hit. He had encouraged his father to move a significant portion of his savings into a protected income option, which helped safeguard his family’s future. Today, his mother still lives off the interest of that investment, a living reminder of why he does what he does.

Jeff has built his independence on honest guidance, strategic protection, and long-term thinking. He doesn’t push products; he provides clarity. He understands that effective planning is about the small, consistent choices that add up over time. Jeff applies this belief to both his clients’ portfolios and his own well-being, prioritizing balance, mindfulness, and movement in his everyday life.
As founder of Bean Harbor Advisors, Jeff is focused on income-generating and principal-protecting strategies as part of holistic financial planning, with a vision of growing a team built on shared values. His approach is grounded in care, self-awareness, and the belief that doing the right thing always comes back around. As he prepares to become an empty nester and watches his own son consider following in his footsteps, Jeff sees the whole picture: a career shaped by service, a life anchored in intention, and a legacy still unfolding.

What qualifications does the Team have?

Joe Maas is our Chief Investment Officer. A highly trained financial analyst, Joe is responsible for analyzing current and potential investments for the firm through deep fundamental analysis, researching industry trends and application of quantitative methods and technical analysis. Joe is very unique because he is certified in so many areas of expertise. He has earned certificates from nine prestigious organizations, and, with over two decades of financial industry experience, his unique core specialty is providing comprehensive investment management and financial planning services for individual investors, business owners, and trust.

Joe holds a variety of world renowned professional designations; he is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charterholder, which is the world’s most respected investment professional’s achievement. In addition to the CFA, Joe is a certified valuation analyst (CVA) and is accredited in business appraisal review (ABAR). His professional capability also includes being a certified merger and acquisition advisor (CM&AA) trained and experienced in buying and selling middle-market companies with revenues from $5 million to $500 million.

Roccy M. DeFrancesco, Jr., JD, CMP, CAPP, is a renowned expert in asset protection and wealth preservation, known for his leadership in the financial and legal industries. Daniel McDonald

Before Daniel McDonald started devoting his work fulltime to AdvisorShare in 2020, he served as Regional Director to a traditional face-to-face wholesaling firm helping them grow to be the #1 independently owned distributor of fixed and fixed index annuities in financial institutions. During his eight years as a perennial sales leader at the firm he became a valued partner to advisors at America’s largest banks and broker dealers training their representatives how to properly use annuities that had only recently been added to their platform. Now Daniel uses that experience to help independent financial advisors identify and use high quality insurance products for their client’s retirement needs.

Daniel is a second-generation, financial services wholesaler who has taken on the challenge of continuing to distribute insurance products properly and effectively to financial services professionals who deem them the best fit for their clients as his father has since 1978. He is insurance licensed in all 50 states and well experienced in considering all industry and state rules and regulations prior to making an insurance recommendation. Jason S. Mackey is a United States Air Force veteran who earned a top-secret security clearance while working on the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. In 1998, after completing his service he returned to Charleston, SC, to join his family’s insurance agency. They have been an independent insurance agency since 1989, which allows them to build the best solutions for their clients. Upon his father’s retirement in 2014, Jason became president of the company. Jason has always had a passion for having a vast knowledge of the Medicare program and guiding people through it.

“I really enjoy helping people through the Medicare maze and simplifying the process,” Jason says. “I get a lot of satisfaction seeing the relief a person has after designing their plan. The best part is that we can do this at no cost to the client.”

Blair received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Finance, from Western Michigan University and is also a Certified Asset Protection Planner (CAPP™).

Blair been working hand in hand with Roccy DeFrancesco as his “right-hand man” since entering the industry and is excited to help AS WM grow to one of the premier RIAs in the industry.

Blair’s role in AS WM will be on the operations side, as part of the “advisor launchpad” offering, and to help advisors with comprehensive case design.
